Let’s talk about something that is worth paying attention to: What is in the tea you drink?
If you’ve ever picked up a box of tea bags and seen the words “natural flavor,” “essence,” or “aroma” on the ingredient list, you’re not alone. Many teas on the market (even the fancier-looking ones) have extra spices added to make them taste like mango, vanilla, or even "honey."
It may sound fine, but have you ever thought: Why does tea need so many things added to make it taste good?
This is what makes our honey-flavored black tea different from others - it does not require any additions because the charming honey aroma comes from the tea leaves themselves .
🌱 No additives = only tea leaves themselves
When we say "no additives", we mean it: there are really no additives .
No fragrance oils, no saccharin, no powders, no artificial aroma.
Just one thing: pure tea leaves - grown naturally in the clean mountains of Pinglin, Taiwan, with an aroma of honey, fruit and nuts , without any external help.
Why is this happening?
This is thanks to nature itself and the farmer's good eyesight.
🐝 The secret is in the tea leaves (and the little bug)
The reason why our honey-scented black tea has such an enchanting aroma is because it undergoes a very unique process in the tea garden.
A small insect native to Taiwan, the green leafhopper , will gently nibble through the tea leaves. This "biting" action triggers the tea tree to initiate its own defense response, releasing natural compounds with a sweet, floral scent. It's like the tea tree itself starts producing its own "built-in aroma".
This aroma is fully preserved when the leaves are harvested and lightly roasted.
The honey aroma you smell and the smooth sweetness you taste all come from the natural cooperation between plants and insects.
Nothing added, no flavoring, no fake fragrance.
Just tea, do it all yourself.
🌍 Why is this important?
For many people, drinking tea is a ritual – a small break in the day, a way to bring the body and mind back into balance.
But if the tea you drink is full of artificial additives and chemical flavors, doesn’t that kind of defeat the purpose?
Choose tea without additives , which means:
✔️ You’re drinking an honest drink✔️ You’re avoiding unnecessary chemicals✔️ You’re drinking the true flavor nature created✔️ You’re supporting sustainable, simple and friendly farming practices
🫖 Better drinking options
If you're new to tea, or are used to drinking flavored or sweetened tea, honey black tea is a great place to start .
It's naturally lightly sweet without being cloyingly sugary; it smells like honey, but it actually has no added sugar. You can brew it hot, cold, or even as a milk tea, and it will come out perfectly without any extra help.
So next time you choose tea, remember to turn over and look at the ingredient list.
If it only had one word written on it: "tea"
That's worth a drink. 🍃
